About Anchor House
About Sarah
Sarah Lambert Connelly is a professionally trained pianist, opera singer, and yoga instructor. Her parents enrolled her in piano lessons at the age of two, after she perched herself on the bench beside the organist at church. After receiving a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from the prestigious Eastman School of Music, she lived in New York City for nine years pursuing an operatic career. Along the way, she was exposed to yoga, and thus began a new passion. In 2009, she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training through YogaWorks. Shortly thereafter, she met her husband in yoga class and wound up in Hawaii through his military career. From their creative hive at the Anchor House in Kailua, she thrives developing the bodies, minds, and spirits of her music and yoga students through creative expression anchored in solid technique.
She is a member of the Mae Z. Orvis Studio Program at Hawaii Opera Theatre, which performs throughout the islands regularly. Please check here for upcoming events. |
About Pat
This handsome gentleman is Navy Captain Pat "Pellet" Connelly (RET). A former F-14 Pilot, he now "flies a desk" at the Pacific Integrated Air and Missile Defense Center located on Hickam Air Force Base. As often as he can get his liberty card, he can be found Stand-Up Paddling waves from Reef Runway to the Mokes, hiking, biking, or sailing. Growing up with an accomplished pianist as a mother, his knowledge and appreciation of classical music is quite extensive. Among his favorite composers are Beethoven, Mozart, and Chopin. Recently, Pat has become involved with Hawaii Opera Theatre as well, as a supernumerary (Super!) After his debut as Waiter #3 in October 2016's production of La Boheme, he was invited back for October 2017's production of Carmen, and has hinted that singing in the chorus might be in his future! Only time will tell...
Looking for an outdoor adventure? He'll lead the way. Want an accomplice in shenanigans? He's your man. His zest for life, easygoing attitude, and open heart are among the reasons he is Sarah's Anchor in this life journey. |

Max and Rupert
These two characters are the mascots of Anchor House, and will melt your hearts as they have ours.
Max is a "Poi Dog" rescued from the Hawaii Humane Society. A six-year-old mix of bull terrier, dachshund, and pot-bellied-pig, he wants nothing more than every ounce of your love and attention. Oh, and snacks. Max is the official foot rest under the piano bench. As self-appointed guard dog, the smaller (in stature only), Rupert the dachshund will steal your heart-- after he barks his face off at you. (He's still learning to live with Aloha.) During piano and voice lessons, he will often offer his own melodious tenor voice to the mix. At 13 years old, he has been honing his vocal craft for the last 12 years since we became ohana. In their free time, both dogs enjoy fetching coconuts, chasing crabs, paddle-boarding, hiking, naps. and (of course) snacks. |
